Sandstone

Sandstone has been used in India for centuries. Numerous edifices - forts and palaces - have been constructed using this exquisite natural stone. Sandstone is obtained from sedimentry rocks and is mostly composed of sand-sized grains. It is available in a vast variety of beautiful colors like red, buff, grey, beige and pink. Apart from color, sandstones vary greatly in composition, texture, degree of cementation and layering. Some varieties of sandstones are very hard, strong and durable, making them ideal for constuction purposes. Sandstone has an exotic and rustic appeal that is very alluring.
